Larry Joe Fountain was born Sept. 3, 1948, and passed away Tuesday, Apr. 21, 2026, at the age of 77.
He is survived by his children, Shane Fountain and wife Wendi, Bryan Fountain, and Lindsay Fountain and husband John; grandchildren, Leanna Congdon and husband Lonnie, Kaylyn Maloney and husband Hunter, Colton Fountain, Daegan Fountain, and David Carte; great-grandchildren, Raegan, Riley, Degan, Faith, Josie, and Laikyn; sisters, Betty Joe Albert and husband Ronnie, and Sharon Rose Gore; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Johnson Fountain; son, Jerry Ray Fountain; parents, Claude and Ola Mae Fountain; and brothers, Cletus “Moon” Fountain, Johnnie “Buck” Fountain, Clifford “Tip” Fountain, and Ernest “Dude” Fountain.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Friday, Apr. 24, and continued from 9 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 10 a.m., Saturday, Apr. 25, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Jeremy Shields and Rev. Ron Butler officiated. Interment followed at Fountain Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
