Lady Tigers hang on to beat Montgomery

By Jake McCoy

Toughness and grit are the two words to describe the DeQuincy Lady Tigers after their walk off second round playoff victory over the Montgomery Lady Tigers last Wednesday.

Although these two teams met earlier in the season with DeQuincy winning by an overwhelming 14-4 decision. Head Coach Tiffany Havard knew that this time around would not be as easy and that her girls had to play complementary ball to advance in the playoffs. They did just that and more as pitcher Maddie Vinatieri when all seven innings and struck out six batters.

Audi Flower was 4-4, Emily Cooley was 2-4 with 2 RBIs, Onnie Remedies was 1-3 with an RBI, Maddie Vinatieri was 2-4 with an RBI, and Aubree Royer was 1-3.

DeQuincy 4, Montgomery 3
