Matthew Dean Elam was born Apr. 22, 1966, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and passed away Saturday, Mar. 8, 2025, in Sulphur at the age of 58.
He is survived by his children, Matthew Christopher Elam and wife Angie, and Jordan Gage Elam; sisters, Lisa DeAnn Benoit and husband George, Christina Dale Huffman, and Tina Taylor and husband Joe; nieces and nephews, Britney Dale, Timothy Dale, Tristan Alli, Charles Allen, Felicia Jade, John Robert, Luke Allen, and Matthew Lewis; and great nieces and nephews, Hayden Beau, Jude Payten, Norah Jade, Kida Faye, and Vada Catherine.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Monique Babin-Elam; mother, Catherine Irene Fontenot; father, Michael David Elam; stepfather, Leroy Dale Wilson; sister, Michelle Denean Elam; and nephew, Dakota Dale Singleton.
Cremation was entrusted to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
