Virgil Earl Mitchell was born Mar. 31, 1950, and passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at the age of 74. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and hunting. He also enjoyed watching westerns.
He is survived by his daughters, Danielle Mitchell and fiancé Hanson, and Genna Gibson and husband Dennis; grandchildren, Chloe Gibson and Mason Mitchell; sister, Margaret Clark; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Olla Lee Mitchell; and siblings, James Mitchell, Ruby Mitchell Blanchard, Jackson Mitchell, Paul Mitchell, and Jerry Mitchell.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 20, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
