Ward 6 Fire Protection Dist. #1 held their annual awards dinner

On Saturday, Dec. 14, Ward Six Fire Protection District #1 held their annual Firefighter Awards Dinner at the T. D. Cardwell Center.

Several firefighters were acknowledged for their efforts as they work to provide protection for the Ward 6 Community in Calcasieu Parish.

FF Desiree Amrine was promoted from FF/Operator to Fire Lieutenant.

Board President Roy Arrant was acknowledged for his years serving the community of Ward 6 as a board member. Mr. Arrant is retiring from public service on Dec. 31.

The following Firefighters received awards:

Firefighter of the Year – Asst. Chief Gary Underwood

Recruit FF of the Year – Tad McDaniel

Part-time FF of the Year – Anthony Peshoff Jr.

5 Year Service Award – Mason Marcantel

10 Year Service Award – Capt. Loy Bader

Most Emergency Calls – Asst. Chief Gary Underwood – 142 Emergency Calls

Most Meetings Attended: FF Todd Goleman

Pride, Teamwork, Excellence Award: Kirk Mullen – 4 IFSAC Certifications, Landon Kennon – 4 IFSAC Certifications, Sara McDaniel – 5 IFSAC Certifications, Tad McDaniel – 5 IFSAC Certifications.
Community Service Award: Lorraine Clark

Explorer Awards – Healthcare Providor CPR/ First Aid: Connor Boyle, Tucker Burgess, Jasmine Goffney, Braydon Mouhot, Brennan Rippy.
