THE BOARD OF Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of DeQuincy, La. met in regular session on September 12, 2024 for the following purpose:
Vice-Chair, Lynne Treme called the meeting to order and upon roll call, those present and absent were as follows:
Present: Lynne Treme, Tracey Brown, Darlene Hooker, Shirley Bagwell
Absent: Jerry McCaig
A quorum present, the following business was transacted. The minutes from August 13, 2024 were reviewed. Tracey Brown made a motion to approve the minutes and Darlene Hooker seconded. Motion carried.
Louisiana civil Service Director Bryon P. Decoteau, Jr confirmed receipt of Resolution No. 1018 and has determined that DeQuincy Housing Authority should not be considered an instrumentality of the state. The legal requirements have been met and the resolution was given effect on August 23, 2024.
A list of items to be removed from inventory was presented. Tracey Brown made a motion to remove and write off the items from inventory. Darlene Hooker seconded the motion. All approved. Motion carried. Res # 1020
Quotes for striping and numbering all parking areas in the development were presented and discussed. Three quotes were received from Marshland Enterprises, RBS LLC, and Barber Construction. Tracey Brown made a motion to accept the lowest bid from RBS LLC in the amount of $861.00 for labor only. DHA will furnish the paint. Darlene Hooker seconded the motion. All approved. Motion carried. Res # 1021
DHA is requesting to place unit # 40 (143 Acme Dr) as an employee unit to house the maintenance employee on site for a flat rent per month while employed with DHA. This would provide staff on grounds at all time to assist with after hour call outs, emergency work orders, and assist with entry to units for police & ambulance calls. Elderly and disabled families would feel safer with staff on site. Tracey Brown made a motion to accept request for an employee unit as presented and Darlene Hooker seconded the motion. All approved. Motion carried. Res # 1022
The vacancy report was presented by Shirley Bagwell.
There being no further business to come before the board, the Chairman thereupon declared the meeting adjourned.
