Timothy Ashworth

Timothy “Timbo” Ashworth was born on Feb. 10, 1966, and passed away, on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024.

Timothy was a lover of people, especially the brokenhearted. Wherever he went he made friends with everyone he came in contact with. He loved taking care of his flowers and his yard. Timothy was artistic and could take a piece of wood and make it into something beautiful. He loved to eat, loved children, and was called PawPaw by many of his neighbor’s children. He was a storyteller and was instantly loved by those he came in contact with. Most of all, Timothy loved his family most of all and he will be missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Shayla Phillips and husband, Trevor; granddaughter, Ali Phillips; sibling, Samuel Ashworth and wife, Rose, Diane Remedies and husband, Larry, Julie Stark and husband, Steve, and Paula Rose; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; his two beloved dogs, Colin and Colis.

He is preceded in passing by his parents, Homer and Zelma Ashworth; siblings, Paul Edward Ashworth and Mamie Eugene Ashworth.

The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 9 a.m., until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Bro. Matthew Rose and Bro. Dustyn Rose will be officiating.

Interment will follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
