Garland R. White Sr. of Starks was born October 22, 1943, and passed away October 16, 2026, at the age of 82.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia White; children, Garland Ray White Jr. (Jennifer), John Curtis White (Tammy), Nicky James White, and Carrie Sue Marcantel (Chad); grandchildren, Khoury White, Courtney Pecar, Morgan Upchurch Perkins, Bailey Clark, Dawson White, Ireland White, Jessica Spears, Cassey Armstreet, Billy Stewart, Layken Malek, Colby Choate, Landry Jenkins, Jadelyn Allen, Falon Marcantel, Elizabeth Smith, Rebecca Wright, and Halla Whitworth; 32 great grandchildren; siblings, Geneva Lee, Sheryl Kingrey, and Rodger Dirk; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Routt; parents, Curtis and Era White; and brothers, Nicky Reid White and Vernon Dirk.

Family receiveD friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, and continued from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2026, at First Pentecostal Church, Starks, Louisiana. Pastor Karl Smith, Rev. Logan Whitworth, and Rev. Dustin Wright will be officiating. Interment to follow at VFW Cemetery, Starks, Louisiana.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
