Flora Belle Johnson Bussell was born June 15, 1938, and passed away Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, at the age of 88.
Flora was a faithful member of Deweyville United Pentecostal Church, where she loved serving the Lord and being part of her church family. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, especially for clothes, and spending time with those she loved.
One of Flora’s greatest joys was opening her home for family gatherings. She treasured every opportunity to bring her family together, creating many cherished memories filled with love, laughter, and fellowship.
She is survived by her children, Gary Bussell and wife Regena, Steve Bussell and wife Sherry, and Vicki Pruitt and husband Darryll; grandchildren, Amber Croft, Lyndi Smith (Jared), Jacelyn Bussell, Jordan Pruitt (Lauren), and Weston Bussell (Aryca); 11 great-grandchildren; and siblings, James Johnson, Jesse Johnson, and Mary Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Bo” Bussell; parents, Albert and Elvia Lee Johnson; and siblings, George Johnson, Christine Patton, and Mildred Virdine.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, at Deweyville United Pentecostal Church in Deweyville, Texas. Prayer service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 18, at Deweyville United Pentecostal Church. Interment to follow at Fountain Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
