Shirley Mae Brindley, 84, of Starks, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her daughter, Patti Cradic, and husband Billy; and her sons, Tony Johnson, James Reed, and Rodney Reed. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jaclyn and Amber; her great-grandchildren, Kolton, Ashlynn, Sophia, Ava, Bodie, and Axton; her bonus great-grandchildren, Lawson and Reagen; and her sisters, Brenda, Susie, Sheryl, and Sandra.
Shirley was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years, Elton Brindley; her mother, Helen Ashworth; her father, Sam Humberson; brothers Samuel Humberson Jr., Johnny Humberson, Sr., Gary Humberson, Marion Humberson, Terry Humberson and Michael Humberson.
The family received friends from 6 – 7 p.m., Monday, July 13, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. A graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, at VFW Cemetery in Starks. Rev. Alfred Gibson officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
