Rodney “PoJo” Rose was born Jan. 16, 1960, and passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the age of 66.
PoJo was hardworking, loved hunting, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was one of a kind and will be remembered for his strong spirit.
He is survived by his children, Brooke Burge and husband Charlie, Dustyn Rose and wife Tamra, and Mathieu Rose and wife Lacy; grandchildren, MiCaya (Michael), Isaiah (Bryleigh), Adisyn, Remingtyn, Cami, and Candon; great-grandchildren, Miles, Rivertyn, Draedyn, Noah, and Reazyn; and siblings, Carla Sizemore, Alfred Lee Rose, and Lynette Humphries.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Shirley Rose; and siblings, Shirlene Williams and Johnny Pageant.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, with the funeral service being held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, at Oretta Pentecostal Church in Singer. Pastor Dustyn Rose, Rev. Lindsey Hoosier, and Rev. James Vandergriff will be officiating. Interment to follow at Riley Smith Memorial Park in DeQuincy.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
