Reward offered

Reward Offered: In the early morning hours of Monday, Apr. 27, person(s) unknown illegally entered the CLECO Substation on College St. by cutting the fence. Once inside the perpetrators stole copper and aluminum wire. The amount of theft was approximately $1000.

The offenses committed by the perpetrators are Theft, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Property Damage, Theft of Critical Infrastructure and Criminal Damage to Critical Infrastructure. These are serious charges that could carry 15 years in prison. The lights could have been out in our area.

The DQPD is asking anyone that has information pertaining to this theft, to please contact the DQPD at 337-786-4000. Your name will not be given and if the perpetrators are arrested, you can receive a reward. Copper wire thefts are on the rise all over because the price of copper has doubled. Persons of interest have been identified.
