Margaret Norris Stains was born Jan. 17, 1948, and passed away Monday, April 6, 2026, at the age of 78.
She is survived by her children, John Perkins, Ronald Stains and partner Becky Smith, and Jennifer Smith; grandchildren, Heather White and husband Jared, Bobby Greenfield and wife Ashlie, Chad Greenfield, Kimberly Norwood and fiancé Robert Brantley, Megan Marceaux and husband Tyler, Myrissa Lejuhn and husband Cody, Adam Smith, and John Paul LaPoint; 20 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Genevieve Stains and Henry Norris; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Stains; granddaughter, Lois Stains; parents, James and Clarice Norris; and siblings, James Norris, Jeanette Hyatt, Clarice Stains, and John Norris.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Apr. 10, and continuing from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Apr. 11, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Rob Tibbitts and Rev. Anthony Kennon officiated. Interment followed at Miller Annex Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St. DeQuincy.
