Tigers Sweep Rosepine in District Play
On Monday, Mar. 31, the DeQuincy Tigers baseball team traveled to Rosepine to take on the Rosepine Eagles in District 4-2A action.
It wouldn’t take the Tigers long to get on the board in the 1st inning when Nolan Schrader hit a two run homer over the left field wall to take an early 2-0 lead. The Tigers would score one in the 3rd, one in the 4th, 4 in the 5th, and one more in the 7th. Rosepine’s only 3 runs of the game came in the 6th inning.
DeQuincy collected 7 hits on the night.
Carson Rainwater was 1-5 with an RBI, Diron Valentine was 1-3, Nolan Schrader was 1-3 with 2 RBIs, Andrew Dowden was 2-3, and Turner Rodriguez was 2-3.
Turner Rodriguez pitched 6.0 innings and recorded 3 strikeouts, Carson Rainwater pitched 1 inning and recorded 3 strikeouts.

Tigers Nearly Upset Sam Houston
On Wednesday, Apr. 2, the DeQuincy Tigers traveled down the road to Moss Bluff to play the Sam Houston Broncos in non district action.
The Tigers held the Class 5A Broncos in check only allowing 6 hits and playing complimentary defense in the field. The Tigers also collected 6 hits.
Carson Rainwater was 1-4 with an RBI, Diron Valentine was 1-4 with an RBI, Andrew Dowden was 1-2, Noah Pettifield was 1-2 with an RBI, and Rowdy Griffin was 2-2.
Diron Valentine pitched 5.2 innings and recorded 3 strikeouts and Grant Rainwater pitched 0.1 innings and recorded 1 strikeout.

Tigers Cruise Past Pickering
On Thursday, Apr. 3, the DeQuincy Tigers hosted the Pickering Red Devils on Senior night and in District 4-2A action. A majority of the scoring would be in the 2nd and 3rd innings as the Tigers kept pouring it on after a slow start in the 1st inning. The non stop scoring would lead to DeQuincy winning the game by 15 run rule in 3 innings.
Carson Rainwater was 2-2 with 2 RBIs, Diron Valentine was 2-2 with an RBI, Rahley Royer was 1-2 with an RBI, Noah Pettifield was 2-3 with and RBI, and Hayz Hext was 1-2 with 3 RBIs.
Carson Rainwater was fantastic on the mound pitching all 3 innings and throwing a no hitter while recording 6 strikeouts.

Tigers Crush Hackberry
On Friday, Apr. 4, the DeQuincy Tigers traveled to Hackberry to take on the Hackberry Mustangs in non district action.
The Tigers collected 16 hits producing 17 runs that ultimately ended the game by run rule in the 4th inning.
Carson Rainwater, Nolan Schrader, and Turner Rodriguez all hit a home run in the game.
Carson Rainwater was 4-4 with 4 RBIs, Diron Valentine was 3-3 with 3 RBIs, Nolan Schrader was 1-3 with 2 RBIs, Andrew Dowden was 2-3 with 3 RBIs, Turner Rodriguez was 1-2 with 2 RBIs, Noah Pettifield was 1-3, Rahley Royer was 2-3, and Rowdy Griffin was 2-2 with an RBI.
Grant Rainwater pitched all 4 innings only allowing 4 hits and recorded 5 strikeouts.
