The DeQuincy Masonic Lodge #279 held their 3rd Annual Squirrel Hunt and Wild Game Cookoff this past weekend Saturday, Feb. 22.
The following awards were given for the Squirrel Hunt:
Daniel Crosby and Maverick Crosby placed 1st in the Youth Division with two squirrels.
Shane Vincent, Blake Vincent, and Graham Vincent were awarded for the Largest Squirrel and had 13 squirrels. Graham also placed 1st in the Youth Division.
CJ Wylie, Cauy Jackson, and Andy LeBlanc placed 1st in the Adult Division with 24 squirrels.
Dennis Cornner, Robert Shives, and David Grove placed 2nd in the Adult Division with 22 squirrels and the Most Unique Squirrel.
Dalton Wylie, Jesse Pierce, and Samuel Brady were awarded 3rd place in the Adult Division with 13 squirrels.
Wild Game Cookoff
Cookoff winners are told her by division:
Fin Division: Trent Buxton, 1st place; Kenny Griffin and Dale Cardozier, 2nd place.
Feather Division: Jared West, 1st place; Annajo Haynes, Randy Henry, and Chris Henry, 2nd place; and Trent Buxton, 3rd place.
Fur Division: Trent Buxton, 1st place; Jeff Stampley and Tommy Reeves, 2nd place; and Bubby Griffin, 3rd place.
Taster’s Choice Award: Tommy Reeves and Jeff Stampley.
Kyndal “Lil Bit” Talbert took 1st place in the BB gun competition.
The emcee for the event was Anthony Busceme Jr.
