Henry Holley

Henry “Poop” Holley was born Apr. 9, 1942, and passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at the age of 82.

Henry loved all things outdoors. He enjoyed mowing, hunting, fishing, and gardening, especially potatoes. He was a faithful member of Hargrove Pentecostal Church. Henry loved his family more than anything and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mavis Holley; children, Karen Burnitt and husband Eddie, Steven Holley, Stacy Birdwell and husband Johnny, and Jessica Craft and husband James; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Earline Stuart and husband Nick; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Sharlene Holley and Joanna Perkins; granddaughter, Katelyn Craft; parents, Joe and Jessie Holley; and brother, Kirby Holley.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26, and continuing from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, at Hargrove Pentecostal Church in DeQuincy. Pastor Anthony Kennon, Rev. David Kennon, and Rev. Roy Hoosier will be officiating. Interment to follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
