Late errors cost Tigers in loss

The DeQuincy Tigers Baseball team began their 2025 regular season on the road last Monday against St. Louis Catholic. The game was scoreless until the 5th inning when Nolan Schrader hit a line drive into centerfield to score two runs to put the Tigers on top 2-0. The Saints scored 6 runs in the 6th inning with 4 of those runs caused from DeQuincy errors. The Tigers never had an answer after that.

Nolan Schrader went 1-2 with 2 RBIs.

Carson Rainwater pitched 5 innings recording 5 strikeouts, Turner Rodriguez pitched 1 inning recording 1 strikeout.

Tigers roar past Hamilton Christian

The DeQuincy Tigers Baseball team traveled to Westlake last Wednesday to face the Hamilton Christian Warriors. Despite the slow start for the first two innings, the Tigers poured on the runs and would run rule the Warriors in 6 innings.

Andrew Dowden went 2-4 with 4 RBIs, Turner Rodriguez went 2-4 with 2 RBIs, Noah Pettifield went 1-4 with an RBI, Nolan Schrader went 1-1 with an RBI, Diron Valentine went 2-3, and Carson Rainwater went 1-4.

Diron Valentine pitched for 5 innings recording 8 strikeouts, Nolan Schrader closed pitching 1 inning recording 2 strikeouts.

DeQuincy 16, Hamilton Christian 3.

Tigers top Lake Arthur 15-0

The DeQuincy Tigers traveled to Lake Arthur last Thursday and made quick work of the Lake Arthur Tigers. DeQuincy scored early and often as the secured their 2nd win of the young season run ruling Lake Arthur in 5 innings.

Hayz Hext went 2-3 with an RBI, Noah Pettifield went 1-3 with 2 RBIs, Andrew Dowden went 1-2 with 3 RBIs, Nolan Schrader went 1-3 with 2 RBIs, Diron Valentine went 1-3 with an RBI, and Rahley Royer went 1-2.

Turner Rodriguez pitched 5 innings throwing a no hitter while recording 9 strikeouts.

Tigers fall to ARCA

On Saturday Feb. 15, the DeQuincy Tigers Baseball team played the Acadiana Renaissance Charter Eagles of Youngsville. The game was played at McMurray Park. The Tigers got out to an early lead. However ARCA took advantage of the Tigers’ miscues and took control of the game in the 5th inning handing DeQuincy their 2nd loss of the young season.

Diron Valentine went 1-2, Andrew Dowden went 2-3, Noah Pettifield went 1-3, and Rahley Royer went 1-3.

Grant Rainwater made his first start of his high school career on the mound and pitched very well going 5 innings and striking out 7 batters while only allowing 2 hits.
