Valentine Memories

Valentine memories were shared with the DeQuincy News by Seniors at last week’s Senior Bingo. Here they are:

Last Valentine’s Day our neighbor brought us a small flower arrangement. The card read, “to my two best friends.” He passed away on Christmas Day. He was a good Christian man and a great friend. We miss him dearly.

When I was about 6 years old my parents LeeRoy and Rebecca Stanley took me to the Plantation House in Lake Charles. When we got our food, I asked them why was it so dark; there were candles on the table. I told them, “I can’t see my food.” My Dad said, “Would you like another candle?”

On Valentine’s Day, I was sitting at home and my son, John, came and gave me a card, flowers, and candy. He told me he loved me. That was a very happy day for me.

My husband is a real sweetheart Valentine. Every year he remembers me with a special card, dinner, and a very special gift. He is a romantic. I just love him.

My Valentine’s Day memory was when my husband brought me flowers to work. I remember when I got off work, I was so tired, but he surprised me with rose pedals going to the bathroom, just like a soap opera. I relaxed in the tub, then he took me out to eat. He had them play our song by Tim McGraw andFaith Hill. We danced and had the most exciting night that any woman could ever ask for.
