Tigers lose three

On Friday Jan. 17, the DeQuincy Tigers boys basketball team hosted the Rosepine Eagles in District 4-2A action. The Tigers held their own with the Eagles. However Rosepine found ways to out score the Tigers in the second half as Rosepine won by a score of 93-74.

M.J. Clark led the scoring for the Tigers with 36 points, Jaques Savant scored 9, Landon Joyce scored 8, Conner Snell scored 7, Kadyn Decloutte scored 4, Cameron Joyce scored 2, Lindsey Joyce score 2, and Xzavier William scored 1.

On Monday Jan. 20, the DeQuincy Tigers traveled to Vernon Parish to play the Pickering Red Devils in District 4-2A action.

DeQuincy got off to a hot start. However Pickering matched the Tigers intensity and athleticism and made it a very interesting game. The game went back and fourth. Unfortunately the Tigers would fall to the home standing Red Devils by a score of 68-58 However the Tigers’ Senior forward M.J. Clark scored 32 of the 58 points which helped him eclipse 1000 career points!

M.J. Clark had 32 points, Kadyn Decloutte had 9 points, Jaques Savant had 7 points, Lindsey Joyce had 4 points, Landon Joyce had 4 points, and Conner Snell had 2 points.

The DeQuincy Tigers traveled to Vinton last Friday to round out the first half of District 4-2A action. It was a very competitive and intense game as it always is when DeQuincy and Vinton meet in any sport. However Vinton made a few more plays than the Tigers did and would go on to beat DeQuincy 56-42.

Points scored by DeQuincy: M.J. Clark had 17 points, Lindsey Joyce had 16 points, Kadyn Decloutte had 7 points, Jaques Savant had 1 point, and Landon Joyce had 1 point.
