Catherine Wilcoxson was born July 23, 1952, and passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, at the age of 72. Catherine enjoyed books; she even wrote three of her own. She was a preacher’s wife and traveled with her husband for many years. In 1998, they ministered at DeQuincy Church of Christ for seven years. Catherine also enjoyed making quilts, playing board games, and doing puzzles. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Paul Wilcoxson; children, Jennifer Boyle and husband Michael, and Christopher Wilcoxson; grandchildren, Logan Boyle, Ethan Boyle, Connor Boyle, Lily Wilcoxson, and Henry Wilcoxson; brothers, Barry Kenney, Blair Kenney, and Darren Kenney; honorary daughter, Valencia Castillo; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbridge Kenney and Doris Mae McConaghy Kenney; and siblings, Lois Brumwell, Marlane Barrett, and Wade Kenney.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, with the funeral service being held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 10, at DeQuincy Church of Christ in DeQuincy. Mr. Al Woodard and Mr. Joey Franks officiated. Interment followed at Bivens Cemetery in Bivens.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
