Martha “Becky” Rebecca Jones Suchanek was born Sept. 22, 1938, and passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, at the age of 86.
She is survived by her children, Catherine Marcantel and husband Gregory, Connie McDonald and husband Jay Dale, and William “Ed” Suchanek and wife Joey, daughter-in-law, Kelly Suchanek-Smith and husband Tom; grandchildren, Staci Lamberth and husband Jay, Gregory Jared Marcantel Jr., Christina Koch and husband Jamie, Amanda Underwood and husband Gary, Tiffanie Crosby and husband Daniel, Paige McDonald, Samantha Mullins and husband Justin, Vicki Evans, and Raven Thibodeaux and husband Kirkland; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Calli Jo, Abigail, Landon, Ryder, Zoey, Addison, Paisley, Christopher, Sara, Kara, Nate, Marshall, Mark, Carrie, Robert, Clara, Martina, Blayne, Dylan, Matthew, Maverick, Kinsley, Brady, Lyanna, Manning, Macklin, Eli, MaKynlee, Alton, Gracelynn, and Kirkland Jr.; great-great-grandchildren, Nova Rae, Kiera, and Anika; special children, Logan, Lawton, and Landry; brother, Robert Jones; nieces and nephews, Jerrie, Jenny, and Kevin; and cousins, Diane Cannon, Sandra Smith, and Faye Harper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Suchanek; son, James Howard Suchanek; grandchildren, Nicholas Winkler and James “Jim” Suchanek; great-grandchild, Joshua Puerta; parents, Robert and Wynell Jones; brother, John “Buck” Howard Jones; aunt, Norma Blackwood; and cousin, Elaine Blackwood.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 10, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Nov. 11, at New Hope Baptist Church in DeQuincy. Pastor Roland Hebert officiated. Interment followed in Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
