William “Bill” Fountain was born Feb. 5, 1935, and passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024, at the age of 89.
After 30 years, William retired from the United States Army. He enjoyed going to church, working in his yard, fishing, and going out to eat. More than anything, he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Delois Fountain; children, Madeline Fountain, Leslie Fountain, Lisa Johnson, Rod Doyle and wife Karla, LaNell Doyle, and Nikki Worthy and husband Daren; grandchildren, Brittney Johnson, Kirk Doyle and wife Krystal, Gretchen Hollie and husband Alden, Landy Johnson and wife Monica, Jamie Doyle, Nicholas Doyle and wife Jamie, Lawson Worthy, and Tilly Worthy; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; along with several brothers and sisters.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, and continuing from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, at First Pentecostal Church in Starks. Pastor Karl Smith and Bro. Alden Hollie will be officiating. Interment to follow at Clark Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
