Merryville High
Merryville High School 12th Grade Student of the Year is Lucas Tucker.
He is the 18 year old son of Eric and Tina Tucker.
Tucker enjoys playing varsity football for the Merryville Panthers. He is also active in Student Council, FFA and Beta Club. Among his many accolades and accomplishments, he has placed 1st, 3rd, and 5th in Literary Rally academic competitions in Physical Science, Chemistry and English respectively.
After graduation, Tucker plans to pursue a degree in engineering at McNeese State University.
Merryville Middle
Merryville High School 8th Grade Student of the Year is Garrett “Rhett” Lukens.
He is the 13 year old son of Kenneth and Jordan Lukens.
Lukens values family and his favorite pastime is quality time and outdoor activities with them. He is involved in junior high athletics, Junior Beta Club and frequently demonstrates leadership through community service projects.
Merryville Elementary
Merryville High School 5th Grade Student of the Year is Alexandra “Bree” Lanier.
She is the 11 year old daughter of Craig and Heather Lanier.
Lanier enjoys working out, playing basketball and softball, pitching, drawing, crafting and helping her younger siblings. She is active in her church youth group and Junior Beta Club. She is a charter member and President of the MHS Environmental Club.
