Shannon “Bull” Dale Brantley, 62, of Ragley, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, from stage 4 liver cancer surrounded by his family. He was born on July 23, 1962, in DeQuincy, to Macky and Joyce Brantley.
In his free time, Bull enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, riding his Harley with his wife, hunting, fishing, and enjoying the weather daily at 4:20.
Bull is survived by his loving wife, Tina Brantley of Ragley; his children, Ashlee and Jason Mitchell of Longville, Patricia LeBert of Ragley, Nick Brantley and Jodi Reeves of Reeves, Justin and Cindy Brantley of Oakdale; grandchildren, Payton Ramirez, Victoria Mitchell, Madyson Mitchell, Colbie Mitchell, Christopher Mitchell, Shaylynn LeBert, Triston LeBert, Aeriana LeBert, Nathan Reeves, Joseph Reeves, Raegen Reeves, Elijah Norris, Myles Richards, and Shyann Richards; two great-grandchildren, August Ramirez and Charlie Reeves; his mother, Joyce Brantley of DeQuincy; brothers and sisters, Jim Brantley of Centerville, Texas, Corky Brantley of Buffalo, Texas, Mary Sue Duncan of DeQuincy, Richelle and Johnny Bowman of Singer, Kim and James Nichols of Centerville, Texas, Kendall Brantley and Wendy Wiseman of Centerville, Texas, and Kim Brantley of Singer; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Scrooge and Fay Brantley; father, Macky Brantley; bonus mom, Melvene Brantley; brother, Pat Brantley; cousins, Melvin VanAernam and Michael VanAernam; nephews, Cody Bowman and Kaleb Brantley; and niece, Amy Lyons.
His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
Pallbearers are Jason Mitchell, James Nichols, Kendall Brantley, Cody Conrad, Caleb VanAernam, and Charles McKinney.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Mike Streams will be officiating. Interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
