?ORDINANCE 972
THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of DeQuincy, State of Louisiana, met in regular session on the 14th day of October, 2024 and adopted the following Ordinance as an amendment to Chapter 5-Buildings of the Code of Ordinances.
WHEREAS, the City of DeQuincy desires to update and modernize its Code of Ordinances regarding the regulation of Building-Application for permit.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council that Chapter 5-Buildings. Sec 5-15 Same-Application for permit and Sect 5-17- Same-Route to be prescribed is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 5-15. – Same—Application for permit.
Any person who contemplates transporting, hauling or moving any house, building or other similar type of structure within the town shall apply to the mayor or to such person or persons as have been lawfully designated by the mayor, stating in writing the present location of the house, building or other similar type of structure, the place to which it is to be moved, the mode or method by which it is to be moved, and when the move is to be made. Buildings or structures moved into or within the City of DeQuincy jurisdiction shall comply with the requirements of the International Building Code.
Sec. 5-17. – Same—Route to be prescribed.
At the time of granting the permit, as provided for in section 5-16, the mayor or such person or persons as may be lawfully designated by the mayor must approve the route to be taken or followed through the town so as to avoid injury to, destruction of, or serious interference with, public or private property.
All other sections, paragraphs, subsections, subparagraphs, clauses, phrases, and words of Chapter 5, not specifically amended by this ordinance, are to remain the same.
Said Ordinance having been introduced on the 9th day of September, 2024, by notice of Public Hearing having been published on the 9th day of October, 2024, said Public Hearing having been held 14th day of October, 2024, title having been read and Ordinance considered, on motion by Margaret Brown, seconded by Jim Smith to adopt the Ordinance. A record vote was taken, and the following result was had:
