Ward 6 Fire responded to multiple calls

Ward 6 Fire responded to multiple calls:

Monday, Sept. 16 at 8:17 p.m. Ward Six Fire Protection District No. One was dispatched to the 3600 block of Heurtevant Rd. for smoke in a residence. Houston River Fire Dept. and DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Dept. were also dispatched as automatic aid. Prior to arriving on scene, the homeowner called dispatch and advised he had located a power strip that had burned.

Unit 901 and HR 91 arrived on scene and checked the residence. All other units were canceled enroute.
At 9:53 p.m., dispatched to a vehicle crash at Hwy. 27 and High Hope Rd. Engines 7 and 19 responded along with Units 901, 902, and 903.

Chief Lappe HR 91 also responded and arrived on scene finding a two vehicle crash blocking both travel lanes. Acadian Ambulance was on scene treating one occupant, with two other occupants refusing medical treatment.

Firefighters established traffic control and deployed absorbent for fluids on the road.

While on this scene, at 10:45 p.m., Ward 6 was dispatched to 1200 block of Penton Rd. for an EMS assist due to an extended response time from Acadian. Units 901 and 902 responded and provided care for the patient until Acadian arrived and transported to the hospital.

At 11:29 p.m., Ward 6 was dispatched to a fire alarm on Route 66. Houston River FD and DeQuincy FD were dispatched as automatic aid. While enroute, dispatch advised the alarm company requested the fire department to cancel the call due to a false alarm. Unit 902 was arriving on scene and all other units were canceled enroute.

As always the Calcasieu Parish E911 dispatchers did an amazing job.
