Joe Davis

Joe Allen Davis, 87, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, in Cleburne, Texas.

Joe was born on Aug. 30, 1937 in Sieper to parents Vera Funderburk and William Davis. Joe owned a successful heating and air conditioning company, in Humble, Texas which he started in 1971 and continued to operate until he retired.

Joe was a faithful member and served at Porter Apostolic Pentecostal Church for 48 years. He was a Sunday School Assistant Superintendent and served on the board of trustees.

Joe lived his life for God and enjoyed fishing and hunting tremendously. He was a good friend to many and excellent husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Joe is survived by his wife, Bernice Davis; son, Keith Davis and his wife, Julie; grandchildren, Justin Davis, Amy Hansen and her husband Kyle, Miranda Phillips and her husband Brandon, David Davis, Brendan Davis and Rebecca Davis; 11 grandchildren Savanah Davis, Jaxson Davis, Lily Davis, Joel Hansen, Amelia Hansen, Gemma Phillips, Rue Phillips, Piper Phillips, Jessie Phillips, Jude Phillips and Jaden Phillips; and sister, Eleanor Dryden and her husband Darrell.

Celebration of Life service officiated by Pastor McCoy was held at Porter Apostolic, 24149 Loop 494, Porter, Texas 77365, with viewing at 9 a.m. and service starting at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 5.

Visitation was held at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 315 N 14th Street, Kinder, at 10 a.m. Immediately afterwards processional to the gravesite service officiated by Pastor Brandon Phillips at Oak Hill Cemetery in Oakdale, on Friday, Sept. 6.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
