Jeffery Armistead was born Mar. 8, 1977, and passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024, at the age of 47.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jessica Armistead; and sons, Gavin Armistead, Ethan Armistead and wife Jordan, Eli Armistead; daughter, Maci Rainwater and husband Kamron; parents, Randy and Bridget Armistead; sister, Fancy Joffrion and husband Jeremy; brothers, Chad Cooper, Cody Cooper and wife Amanda, and Chase Cooper. He is also survived by nieces, Gracy Joffrion and Kaitlyn Sonnier; and nephew Owen Dickerson; aunts, Shirley Sweat and husband, Joey; Cindy Milner and husband, Jerry; Brenda Stewart and husband, Butch; and uncle, Clay Miller; mother-in-law, Sheree Davis and husband Steve; father-in-law, Dale Pitre and wife Tina; and sister-in-law, Ashley Dickerson and husband Ashton.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Blue Eyes Miller; Hardy and Beth Royer; Cecil and Lavetta Armistead; Drew and Catherine Pitre; his brother, Casey Cooper; his uncles, Jay “Jaybird” Miller; Hank Miller, and Charles Royer; aunt, Elle Clark; cousin, Terry Jones; and best friend, Bill Pierce.
In Jeff’s early years, he loved participating in High School Rodeos. In 1996 he won the title of Champion Bareback Rider in High School Competition, he also qualified for High School Nationals four years.
Jeff was an active member of the 4-H and FFA organizations and a big supporter of many charity groups. He was an active member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. After a career of an electrician, he started his own oil field company in 2010, “A Plus Productions.” A very successful company for the past 14 years and still progressing. He loved fishing, rodeos, attending concerts and cooking.
Jeff had an immense love for his wife, children and parents, his extended family and everyone he was acquainted with.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m. with a Rosary held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 26, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, , Aug. 27, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur. Very Reverend Edward Richard, M.S. officiated. Interment followed at A Plus Productions Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
