Arthur Dean Dyson was born Dec. 2, 1955, and passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, at the age of 68. Dean was a member of the West Orange Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years. During these 30 years he was an Officer, Captain, Assistant Fire Chief, and Fire Chief. He coached Little League Baseball and was a member of West Orange Lions Club for many years. Dean enjoyed fishing and was a mechanic since the age of 12. He loved being with his family and taking family vacations. Dean had a servant’s heart and loved serving his community.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anita Dyson; children, Josh Dyson and wife Erica, and Jason Dyson and wife Shannel; grandchildren, Madison Dyson, Matthew, Ashtyn, Bianca, and Calek; two great grandchildren with two great grandchildren on the way; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Dyson Teal; father, Arthur Dyson; stepfather, Clyde Teal; siblings, Wendell Fruge, Lydwin Marshall and husband Pat, and Sherry Huckaby; nephew, Randy Marshall; great niece, Jacie Russo; brother-in-law, CJ Huckaby; and sister-in-law, Karolyn Fruge.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Friday, July 26, with the funeral service being held 10 a.m., Saturday, July 27, at Cowboy Church in Orange, Texas. Pastor Harland Strother and Bro. Jeff Bell will be officiating. Interment to follow at Wilkinson Cemetery in Orange, Texas.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
