Earl Clifton “Scooter” Gibson, Jr. was born Oct. 1, 1956, and passed away Friday, May 10, 2024, at the age of 67. He enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his siblings, Linda Stuart, Ronald Lee Gibson, Thomas Lynn Gibson; uncles and aunts, Larry Gibson, David Gibson, and Sharon Ann “Rooney” Gibson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gibson; parents, Earl Clifton Gibson, Sr. and Rosie Lee Jiminez; siblings, Alan Dale Gibson and Elizabeth Ann Gibson.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Calvary Apostolic Church, 4270 Hwy 12, Starks. Rev. Karl Smith and Rev. Alfred Gibson will officiate. Interment will follow at Fountain Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W Fourth St., DeQuincy.
