By Major Jerry Bell, DQPD Public Affairs Officer
DeQuincy Police Officer Joshua McCoy graduated from the Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy held at Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles on Wednesday, Apr. 24.
Officer McCoy, already a previous graduate of the training academy, had to take a refresher course consisting of 140 hours of legal and firearms training to meet the standards of the Louisiana Peace Officer Standard Testing (POST). Officer McCoy had recently returned to his first love, being a Police Officer, after having worked for the Railroad for several years. Officer McCoy is a very experienced Police Officer and an asset to the DQPD.
