The Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of DeQuincy, La. met in regular session on March 12, 2024 for the following purpose:
Chairman Jerry McCaig called the meeting to order and upon roll call, those present and absent were as follows:
Present: Jerry McCaig, Lynne Treme, Tracey Brown, Tamara Scott, Shirley Bagwell
Absent: Darlene Hooker
A quorum present, the following business was transacted. The minutes from January 9, 2024 were reviewed. Lynne Treme made a motion to approve the minutes and Tracey Brown seconded. Motion carried.
The financial reports for December 2023 and January 2024 were presented and discussed. The year-to-date actuals were compared to the year-to-date budget. Tracey Brown made a motion to approve the financial reports as presented and Lynne Treme seconded the motion. Motion carried.
An update on Rostan Solutions was given by Jerry McCaig. A payment from FEMA was deposited in DHA’s account on Feb. 7, 2024. All projects with Rostan have been closed.
The installation of exterior doors and screen doors will be completed this week on Acme Dr. and Newport Plaza. Lynne Treme made a motion to purchase 38 exterior doors and screen doors, and all materials to complete the door project on Logan Lane. Tamara Scott seconded the motion. All approved. Motion carried. Res # 1009
The audit report for FYE 9/30/2023 was presented and discussed. Auditor, Mike Estes, noted there were no audit findings.
DHA is requesting the change of status for the Police Officer unit # 67 (229R Logan Lane). The unit is no longer occupied by a law enforcement agent. We will not be housing another police officer at this time. Lynne Treme made a motion to change the status of the police officer unit to a unit available to eligible program participants and Tracey Brwon seconded the motion. All approved. Motion carried. Res # 1010
The vacancy report was presented by Shirley Bagwell.
There being no further business to come before the board, the Chairman thereupon declared the meeting adjourned.
