Harry Jean Perkins was born Apr. 21, 1944, and passed away Sunday, Mar. 31, 2024 at the age of 79.
Harry proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and was a Vietnam veteran. He was an outdoors man and enjoyed watching birds and wildlife. Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sammye Perkins; children, Robin Dilley and husband Greg, Terry Garner and husband Mitch, Lisa Curry Brassieur and husband Ronald, Debbie Smith Perkins, Gary Perkins, Tom Curry, Harry Perkins and wife Amy; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Alvin “Sonny” Perkins and wife Connie, Charles Milton Perkins, Charlotte Anne Perkins, and Terry Perkins and wife Janice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Annie Mae Perkins; brother, DeWayne Perkins; and sister, Marie Aguillard.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until time of the service at 11 a.m. Monday, Apr. 8, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
