Bobby Deaton

Bobby Lee Deaton was born Dec. 9, 1949 and passed away Friday, Mar. 8, 2024 at the age of 74. He proudly served in the United States Army. Bobby was a true jack of all trades and a master of none.

He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Dawn Fields and husband Jerry, and Dana Holiman Ryan; grandchildren, Faith Simmons and husband Justin, Weston Fields, Landon Fields, Shelbey Hang and husband William, Raegan Worsham and husband Brad, Dustin Fields and wife Fernanda, Connor Holiman, Drew Holiman and Latasha, Trey Holiman, Ainsley; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Gracelyn, Callhan, Toyn, Hanson, Liv, Banks, Karter, and Alaina; siblings, Ellen Maynor, Robert Deaton and wife Carey, Charlotte Sewell, and Dexter “Buddy” Deaton Jr. and wife Brenda; step-mother, Pat Deaton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Barry Frank Deaton; father, Dexter Deaton Sr.; mother, Melba Gates and husband Charlie; and brother-in-law, Roger Maynor.

The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Mar. 11, with the funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Mar. 12, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Bro. Russell Burgess officiated. Interment followed Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery in Longville.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
