Wanda Rose Buxton was born July 7, 1934, and passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, at the age of 89. Wanda was a faithful lifelong member at Calvary Church in DeQuincy.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Buxton, Willard Buxton, Carol Cooper, Diana Spears, Chris Buxton, and Danny Buxton and wife, Jayme; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband, Downs Buxton; children, Gail Nichols, Bill Buxton, and Roger Buxton; grandsons, Kasey Cooper and Jason Buxton; parents, Henry and Denise Buxton; son-in-law, Darrell Spears; siblings, Larry Buxton, Gloria Hickman, Ruth Hickman, and Bernice Myers.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, at Calvary Church, 4527 Hwy 12 E, DeQuincy. Pastor Adrian Littlefield and Rev. Clyde Clark officiated. Interment followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements were handled to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
