Mitchell “Mitch” Martin was born Aug. 16, 1944, and passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, at the age of 79. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mitch retired from PPG. He was a faithful member of The Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. Mitch enjoyed white perch fishing and being outdoors. He also enjoyed drinking coffee every morning with his friends while talking about politics and solving the problems of the world. Mitch was very kindhearted and loved doing what he could to help others.
He is survived by his son, Mitchell “JoJo” Martin; and grandsons, Blake Cooley and Shane Wylie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blackie Martin; and daughter, Rachel Martin.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 22. The funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, at The Pentecostal Church, 301 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy. Pastor Wayne Neyland officiated. Interment followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
