Arthur Mitchell Harper died Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at the age of 80.
He was born in DeRidder. He was self-employed in the dirt business more than 40 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Bennett Harper; children, Jeffrey Arthur Harper (Bridget) and Dana Hebert (Kyle) of Lake Charles, and bonus daughters, Donna Coker and Rhonda Isbell (Delbert) of Merryville, and Dana Cryer of DeRidder; his sisters, Barbara Morgan and Joyce Williamson (Boyd) of Lake Charles; brother, Gary Harper of Dry Creek; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded him in death by his beloved son, Brad Harper; parents, Mitchell and Della (Cooley) Harper; one sister; and one brother.
Celebration services were held Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Dry Creek. Rev. Donnis Ashworth officiated. Interment followed at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to offset funeral expenses.
