A native of Dequincy and a longtime resident and pastor of Jeanerette, Pastor Lyle passed away at 4:05 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Rev. A L Lyle was born into what he called, humbled beginnings in a little clapboard home on the corner of two gravel roads. It was those beginnings that made him into the legacy that he became. Feeling a call to ministry at an early age, he answered the call and became a giant in the Apostolic movement. His call took him to Bible school, evangelism across the United States, mission work across the world, building churches, and pastoring for over 50 years. There is no way to wrap up a legacy in one paragraph. Hebrews 11:32 And what shall I more say? For time would fail me…..
A man of God; the five-fold ministry in one, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor, father-n-law, legend – this is Rev. A L Lyle! The complete life, ministry and travels of Rev. A L Lyle can be read in his autobiography, I Answered the Call.

Richardson, Morgan Chaddick and his wife Hannah, Grant Matthew Chaddick, and Gracie Claire Guillotte; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Romayne Lyle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
