Nebert LeJeune, Jr.

Nebert Alexander LeJeune, Jr. was born Dec. 2, 1942, in Elton, and passed away Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, in DeQuincy, at the age of 80. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Nebert was a member of Bible Baptist Church in DeQuincy. He was a rice and soy bean farmer, a longshoreman, and was employed with Dunham Price.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Royer LeJeune; children, Rhonda LeJeune Johnson and husband Kirk, Patrick Brent LeJeune and wife Leslie, Mandi Clark Franks and husband Jon, Kevin Clark, Andy Lopez and wife Lindsay, and Kory Clark and wife Amy; grandchildren, Daniel LeJeune, Claire Johnson, Michael LeJeune, Caleb Johnson, Chloe Savant, Joscelyn Lopez, Leighton Lopez, Christian Lopez, and Owen Clark; brother, Daniel LeJeune and wife Pam; sisters, Elizabeth LaFleur and Carolyn LeJeune Bolt and husband Ricky; mother-in-law, Jackie Royer; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nebert Alexander LeJeune, Sr. and Lenora Chaumont LeJeune; brother, Lawrence Wayne LeJeune; sisters, Beverly LeJeune Bourgeois and Yvonne Fruge; and father-in-law, Ira “Bud” Royer.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Jered Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow at Riley Smith Memorial Park in DeQuincy.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
