Halloween night at the Fall Festival and National Night Out the DeQuincy Chamber held a family costume contest. Nineteen entries were in the competition for first place.
The first place winner was the Haley Martin family consisting of eight people. Their theme was Fairies of Nature. They dressed as a Mushroom, Snail, Bee, Tree, Fall and the two boys dressed as Robin Hood. This group received $100.
The second place group was the Jerry McPherson family consisting of four people. This group dressed as the Addams Family. They received $60 cash prize.
The third place group was the Nichalas Henry family consisting of three people. Their theme was Bewitching even having a “live” black cat with their group and they dressed as a witch, skelton and alchemist. They received a cash prize of $40.
The prize money was donated by Jay DeLouche Law Firm. The contest was a success. See you next year.
