Marland “Troy” Gaskins was born Apr. 26, 1961, and passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023, at the age of 62. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, and working on vehicles. Most of all Troy loved his family and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Gaskins; children, Victoria Joan Gaskins, Brandy Hagan and husband, Brandon, Casey Roubique, and Mark Odenbrett; grandchildren, Benjamin Hagan, Brycelyn Hagan, Edward Navarre, Regan Navarre, Aubrey Lei Hatley, Judah Amon Cooper, Zachary Ryan Landreneau, Alex Landreneau, and Kori Rose Landreneau; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Joan Patricia Buxton Gaskins; and grandparents, Emily and Wilbert Buxton.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Alfred Gibson officiated. Interment followed at Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
