American Legion Post holds first fall meeting

Members of the DeQuincy American Legion Post 183 met at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Temple Baptist Fellowship Hall. Commander Jerry Bell opened the meeting, Brother Arnold Blagrave gave a prayer and then Marine Corporal Bubba Blackburn recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Adjutant, Army Sergeant Jeri Lynn Henagan, gave the financial report and passed out new American Legion cards. After the meeting was adjourned, everyone was treated to a dessert and coffee.

The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, at 310 Leblanc St. As always, Post 183 and all its members thank Pastor Hyatt for letting use their facility.
