Funeral services for Linda Nell Tolbert will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Gospel Baptist Church in Glenmora, with Reverend Dale Poe officiating. Interment will follow in Stanley Cemetery, Union Hill, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home in Oakdale.
Mrs. Tolbert, 75, of Union Hill, entered eternal rest on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Linda was a well-known florist and owned Flower Talk in Glenmora for many years as well as Bud and Blossom in DeQuincy. She also enjoyed working in her church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by parents, Wilburn and Nellie Stanley; and three brothers, H. K. Stanley, Reid Stanley, and Gene Stanley.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of fifty-eight years Donald J. Tolbert of Union Hill; one son, Larry Wayne Tolbert of Union Hill; one brother, R.P. Stanley of Cotile; one sister, Nettie “Fuzzie” Maricle of Union Hill; and three grandchildren, Anthony, Lane, and Bailey.
A time of visitation was held at Gospel Baptist Church in Glenmora, on Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 2 to 10 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 8 a.m. until time of service.
