Gloria Williams was born Aug. 1, 1944, and passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023 at the age of 79. She enjoyed camping, fishing, going out to eat, and shopping. Most of all, Gloria loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Becky Perkins, Tommy Perkins and wife, Stephanie, Scotty Perkins, and Ramona Marie Allbritton; 17 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Leonard Thomas Allbritton; sister, Mary Fontenot; along with nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Perkins; parents, Robert Vernon Jones, Sr. and Fannie Allbritton; the father of her children, Johnny Wayne Perkins; and brother, Robert “Sonny” Vernon Jones, Jr.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Donnis Ashworth officiated. Interment followed at Oretta Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
