Debra Faye Dear, 67, died Saturday, June 3, 2023 in a local hospital.
She was a native of Basile, was raised in Westlake and had been a longtime resident of Bridge City, Texas before returning to the Sulphur/Westlake area. She volunteered with the Wells of Agape in Orange, Texas, The Foundation of Hope Food Bank with Christian Life Church in Vinton, and also helped with local street ministry in Port Arthur, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, John Dear of Sulphur; children, Heather Guillory and husband, James of Sulphur and Michael Dear of Bremerton, Wash.; siblings, Sherman Guillory of Singer, Sharon Gary of Westlake, Terry Guillory of Sulphur, Connie Tuttle of Singer, Kevin Guillory of Kalispell, Mont., and Russell Guillory of Westlake; thirteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Joseph Guillory and Rita Marlene Moore.
Her funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 8, at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Leroy McClelland officiated. Burial was in Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.
