KCS Centennial Celebration set for October 7

The DeQuincy Railroad Museum Board of Directors are planning a Centennial Celebration for the Kansas City Southern Depot in DeQuincy. The Depot is turning 100 years old!

An Open House Celebration will be held at the Museum on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

There will be birthday cake, food vendors, a walk-through “Depot Art Display” inside the Museum, a “Dressing Through the Decades” costume competition, live music on stage, and old train movies in the 1947 Pullman coach car.

There will also be outdoor activities, including kiddie train rides on the newly refurbished kiddie train, and a bouncy house for children and various board games set up for the young at heart.
