DeQuincy High girls place third at district track meet

The DeQuincy High School Boys and Girls Track and Field Teams participated in the District Track Meet on Wednesday, Apr. 19, hosted by Vinton High School. The Girls Track and Field team placed third, with a total of 77 points.

Lydia Dardar, a senior student-athlete, was named Most Outstanding Female Track Athlete for the meet. She placed first in the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes, and was on the first place 4×200 meter and 4×100 meter relay teams.

Kale Little, a junior student-athlete, placed first in the mile run.

The student-athletes listed below have qualified for the Region 2-2A Track Meet at The University of Louisiana-Lafayette on Tuesday, Apr. 25:

4×200 Meter Relay: Bryah LeDay, Nakayla Williams, Alyssa Braxton, and Lydia Dardar, first place.

4×100 Meter Relay: Nakayla Williams, Lydia Dardar, Loni Sanders, and Bryah LeDay, first place.

100 Meter Dash: Lydia Dardar, first place.

200 Meter Dash: Lydia Dardar, first place; Alyssa Braxton, fourth place.

400 Meter Run: Leyla Verot, fourth place.

1600 Meter Run: Brinlee Buxton, third place.
