Randy Mears, 79, was born Oct. 3, 1943, and passed away Thursday, Mar. 16, 2023. He graduated from Rosepine High School. Randy served his country as a Marine in The Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Randy loved to spend time with family and friends. He retired from Local 106 and was a faithful member of Mystic Baptist Church in Fields.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Perry Mears of Fields; children, Brandi Mears Vidrine (Kenny) of Vinton, and Alison Mears Perry of Fields; grandchildren, Jacey Pickett (Michael) of Vinton, Mason, Logan, and Makenna Vidrine of Vinton, Colt Perry of Lake Charles, and Cody Perry of Fields; great-grandchildren, Blaine and Kolton, Evangeline, and Margaret of Vinton; siblings, Pat Vandeveer (Clyde) of Oklahoma, Scottie Hawthorne (Bob) of Longview, Texas, Mike Parker of DeRidder, and Tim Parker of LeBlanc; and a host of lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been entrusted to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
