Alvin James Wright, 77, was born Dec. 18, 1945 and passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards, and watching his game shows. Including Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Most of all his loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Darlene Pack and husband, David, and Tammy Bellard; grandchildren, Ashley Person, Burt Bellard, Jr. and wife, Kristin, Amber Adair and husband, Tyler, Lakin Hoffpauir and husband, Dillion, Logan Hoffpauir and wife, Bailee; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Leonard Wright and wife, Maureen, Carolyn Pruitt, Gloria Johnson and husband, Robert, Curtis Wright and wife, Kathy, Randy Wright, Gaylynn Jones and husband, Gerald, and Darla Hughes.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delma Wright; children, Nancy Hoffpauir and Laura Wright; parents, James Gilbert and Bobbie Louise Wright; his twin, Calvin Wright; and sister, Shirley Jean.
Pallbearers will be Burt Bellard, Jr., Jayden Bellard, Logan Hoffpauir, Jaylin Drost, Brian Wright, and Joe Wright. One honorary pallbearer is Gabriel Drost.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Dec, 29, with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. at Charity Tabernacle, 9489 Hwy 113, Dry Creek. Pastor Glen Anderson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy.
