On Thursday, Dec. 1, Chief Casey Whitehead resigned from the DeQuincy Police Department stating that he would like to thank Mayor Riley Smith, and the City Hall staff for the support that he had received for the past 10 years.
Chief Whitehead specifically stated that he wanted to thank all the officers for their true commitment to the safety and security of the citizens of DeQuincy.
Mayor Riley Smith accepted Chief Whitehead’s resignation stating, “Chief Whitehead did a wonderful job for the city of DeQuincy, and he will surely be missed”. Whitehead was offered a position with a large company with great opportunities to advance.
